Smart Address is a multi-user product based on Client/Server architecture. This means your information can be shared by different users on your computer or across your office or company.

Smart Address is licensed on the basis of the number of separate devices accessing the Smart Address data (with special arrangements for Terminal Server, see below).

The licenses are per-device, not based on concurrent access. If 20 devices will access the server, but not all at the same time, a 20 access license is still required.

License Requirement

  • A single user running on a single computer requires only a single license.

  • Multiple users on a single computer (such as multiple users sharing a single computer running Windows XP) require only a single access license.

  • Multiple users on different computers require the number of access licenses equivalent to the number of different computers that are used to access the server. For example if there are two computers, the first computer supporting 4 users and the second with 3 users, then a 2 access license will be required.

  • The same user accessing the server from three different PCs will require a 3 access license.

Terminal Server Environment

  • When running Smart Address using Windows Terminal Server, each separate remote connection to the Terminal Server requires one access license.
