Changes introduced with this Release of Smart Address

To install this new release, simply run the downloaded set-up file. To check which version of Smart Address you are running, select the Smart Address Help Menu and then the About option

Smart Address Client (Build 528)

• The Backup and Restore now handles the User Accounts. This means when restoring a database, the ownership of records will remain connected to the correct owner. Prior to Build 516, the ownership of records could have been lost.
• Fix to the display problems that were hiding the management buttons for the Print, Email and Letter report screens.
• Fix to Record Index errors that sometimes occurred when grouping the Contacts List by Contact Name and then expanding one of the Grouped sections
• Changes to the Database Connection logic to resolve errors in the Reminder Monitor when it tries to connect to a local database
• Changes to the Database Server to handle slow machine start-ups where the Server has not had a chance to start before the application tries accessing the database
• Fix to the Insert to Clipboard facility where it was incorrectly reloading the previous field mapping.
• Fix for the Notes Formatting Toolbar problem (which stopping the Notes toolbar being reenabled once it had been turned off).
• Introduction of a SAVE command to the Contact Window which allows changes to be saved without closing the Contact Window.
• Introduction of an Import Menu option for Importing from Outlook Express
• New version of the X2Net Server providing a number of database servers fixes.
   

Smart Address Client (Build 515)

• Setup files are now digitally signed with the name of the publisher (i.e., X2Net Limited).
• New output field added to the Envelope and Label Printing facility.  You can now select to include the <Title> <First Name> <Last Name> field on your envelopes and labels if required.
• Fix to remove reminders from Recurring Events as this is not (yet) supported.
• Fix to allow National Holidays to be displayed on the Home Page's calendar display
• Fixed problems with the Windows Address Book (WAB) Import when the Windows Address Book being imported was empty
• The contacts preview pane on the Contacts Display now remembers it's width and restores the pane's last saved width when going into the Contacts Display.
• The notes preview pane on the Notebook Display now remembers it's width and restores the pane's last saved width when going into the Notebook Display.
• Option Introduced to allow the All Day Events in the Calendar to be displayed in Gray or using their Highlight Color. Default is to display them in Gray, but this can be changed by using the Tools, Options menu command.
• New Menu Commands added for the Calendar Display of "Go to Date" and "Go to Today". This supplement the existing popup menu commands for these actions. This also now allows buttons to be placed on the toolbar to perform this actions (by customizing the toolbar).
• Home Page screen changed to simplify the display and remove the issues with the "docking display parts". The Home Page screen no longer supports the docking display facility. This provides an increase in speed when displaying the Home Page compared with the previous method and also removes all problems encountered with the Home Page screen.
• Fixed the "List Index out of Bounds" error that would occur when setting a Task's Due or Start Date to None.
• Fixed the Tasks Display screen so that Tasks with no due date, or no start date, will now display the date as None instead of "31/12/1899".
• Fixed the problem with new Contact Records not saving if the Contact's Properties were displayed whilst creating the new Contact.
• Fixed the Contact properties screen so it now correctly displays the first tab page when the screen is displayed.
• Fixed the problem with Label printing that would sometimes cause no labels to print or the incorrect number of labels to print.

Smart Address Client (Build 508)

• Stopped Smart Address writing a FORM.INI file to the application's install folder when closing Smart Address with no Address Book open
• Changed the way the computer's Internet browser is located to avoid the rare cases that sometimes caused problems when starting Smart Address
• Fixed the problem when displaying Journal Events for the Month that sometimes caused an access violation
• Added the capability to preserve mapped drive paths when attaching links to contacts. Mapped Drives can now be converted to UNCs (the default), or left as mapped drive paths
• Fixed the problem with the Tasks Navigation Bar being resized to 0 width and then not being able to resize it again
• Fixed the problem with the NoteBook Navigation Bar being resized to 0 width and then not being able to resize it again
• Fixed the problem with the Contacts Navigation Bar being resized to 0 width and then not being able to resize it again
• Fixed the problem with the Calendar Navigation Bar being resized to 0 width and then not being able to resize it again
• Fixed the problem with the Journal Navigation Bar being resized to 0 width and then not being able to resize it again
• Removed the TCP/IP DNS Lookup that occurred even when not running over a Network, often causing an Firewall alert to be issued.
• Fixed the Problem that stopped the Default printer being allocated by default when Printing Envelopes
• Fixed the Problem that stopped the Default printer being allocated by default when Printing Labels
• Fixed the problem where the Envelope Feed Icon wasnt displaying the selected envelope feed correctly
• Fixed the problem that sometimes caused a "Variant Conversion" error when displaying the Contacts List

Smart Address Monitor (Build 508)

• Improve the performance and memory utilisation of the Reminder Monitor
• Fixed the problem that sometimes caused a "Application is frozen" error.

X2Net Server Manager (Build 45)

• Added a fix for the bug which caused a blank identifier (GUID) to be recorded in the Users Table
• Fixed the problem that caused a Key Violation when adding new users via Server Manager
